As the great burning sun sits high in the sky, dwarfing the burnt landscape with its majesty a white sailed, brushed metal sandsailer cobbled together by scraps of metal and hope skirts across the sandy dunes, kicking up grains of sand into the air while the warm wind rushes the sailor onward.
The deck of the sailer had a murrade of bags or canopy's attached, all patchwork or different colours but each contained 'treasures' of the sand, Two people were at either sail at all times, while one kept the Sailer on course with the rudder which pivoted the sails whenever they drifted off course. on the deck was an enclosed space, where others slept or played a game of bones to pass the time, this group had picked up a traveler some days ago, a woman from the sands, her hands dried with blood, a cut along her back, body beaten with sand, she wore decorative light cloth wraps as though she had been going about her day to day business, yet her forearms adorned with metal, vambraces used in fighting, the ornate curved knife like weapons she carried with her was steeped in blood, she wore some other armor, a pauldron on one shoulder and one metal boot, the other missing, Days had passed since the girl came aboard and the group welcomed her in kindly, fed her, gave her water and tonight, they would teach her the game of bones, a game which used knuckles and finger bones as well as the odd animal bone.
a Loud bellow of laughs "YESSSSSS!" came a gruff voice cutting through the rabble, his cheeks red and eyes dilated he laughed loudly while the three others around him groaned and passed over curious disk shapes perhaps representing money. long since past their prime some had raised ridges around the edge and others had symbols or logos on them that meant something long ago in the past.
"Your all out of luck Tribal scum!" spoke a voice to the left
A shout of panic, as as arms grabbed the newcomer, a youthful woman with white hair, one side braided tight to her head coming down her back in thin rows, with feathers and orange silken string woven into the strands, the left side was wild and free falling just below her shoulders.
"KEEP THE GIRL QUIET, i'm sick of her bloody voice" came an order from the Gruff man who had just won the game of bones and taken her last belongings.
A knobbily hand coverd her mouth, grabbing her lower jaw and forcing it open, she scrambled and swiped, others from the table came and grabbed her hands
"i said keep the bitch quiet Scrun" the gruff man with a large stomach stood from the table, it wobbled before falling over, the bones scattering "NOW LOOK WHAT YOU DONE GIRL!" he bellowed, moving to the corner and grabbing a waterskin, lumbering over with a rag in hand,
Her pale Amythist eyes widend as a foul tasting rag was shoved in her mouth heavily handed, it was soaked with something "Now stay quiet if you know whats best for you" spoke Scrun a somewhat crooked voice, high pitch and gravily in its own right, it belonged to a rather short man whose skin had a greenish tinge too it, he had once had the displeasure of being near a metal sandrig as it exploded, coating him in the viscus fluid that stained his skin, but he wasn't finished with the girl...
With the Rag in her mouth she coughed, splutterd and tried to push it out using her tongue, she felt it choking her and just before she managed to free it, a wet rag bound her mouth and nose, she kicked but her legs felt heavier than before, she tried to throw an arm, but it felt like pushing through sand, her vision blurring before her head rolled back, she heard what sounded breifly like distant laughing though it was through a baloon, distorted and distant yet so close to her, the world melted away, replaced by vivid colours, her pupils diolated before appearing milky when looked upon.
"Ooohhhh she's enjoying the ride now i bet!" Voiced Scrun as he adjusted his trousers, pulling off a rope belt "I call first" he cakkled loudly before ripping the girls clothes from her without resistance, she was little more than a ragdoll under the influence of this strange liquid 'stardust'

"And that Class... is how you extract the nessesery ingrediants from a Yagul, Tomorrrow we will cover alterntive uses and some basic conjuration using Yagul entrails" a beautiful woman with metallic ashen marks on her skin gave a single clap which rang like a bell, the ingrediants she had infront of her moved themselves into preservation jars and floated to their place behind the large chalk board, Students moved passed her desk some in a hurry others not a care in the world, one student stopped to ask a question which didn't take long to answer "Thank you Professor Kai" the student smiled before hurridly leaving.
Taking the steps down from the college in her stride Professor Kai wore decrotive Ram like horns on either side of her head adorned with curiosities, her hair was shaved short along both sides and the back, with a sweeping fringe of hair like a Pixie cut which at times coverd one of her Emerald eyes, she grasped a ornate staff in one hand, its base was made of wood, an incredibly rare material much saught after, the head of the staff were almost like stone branches, curling around a Long Crystal the same colour as her eyes, she called the staff 'Yggdrasil'
the heat of the sun wassen't something a Mage had to worry about, she had learned a piece of magic that kept her body the same cool tempeture for years, though it was by no means a simple spell, and very drastic should it go wrong, Kaiya wore a smile on her face as she descended the steps, she wore a unique kind of dress, one long panel at the front with a kind of slit at her thighs allowing for free leg movement while still having the dress like matreial flow behind her as she walked, her belt was a brushed metal that matched the horns she wore, keeping the fabrics together while jingling softly as she descended the steps in leather like boots strung up just below her knee, each sleeve was long and flowey, perhaps much was hidden up them, but her shoulders were on show as a gap allowed ropes to keep the sleves attacehd to the dress.
Kaiya passed through the marketplace, receiving kind helloes and welcome handshakes, she was well known in the community and her shop was known for having just about anything you needed along with a potant elixar for any occasion, much of her trade kept the marketplace as it was, she would buy up stock and have it back out in the street in another form, the constant flow kept things running smoothly, that was... until two months ago when Kaiya found someone who would become her assistant "Sindri, are you here?" Kaiya spoke as she pushed open the door of her shop, a welcomeing jingle of metalic objects just above the door made the Assistant inside aware of a potentual customer, Sindri had no magicall tallent what so ever dispite having the constant tutiladge of Kaiya herself, the lack of magic meant that a portion of her focus was always on the shop, keeping what needed to be automated going, which at times when she got destracted, meant a vile or two smashing on its own.
"Welcome to the Equinox, what can i he--" he stopped short "Oh Mistress, welcome, can i get you your tea?" he spoke with the upmost respect, he wore pretty much whatever Kaiya told him too, which amused her to no end, today he wore a coat which came to his hips ted at the waist with three belts, the shoulders had a padding too them, keeping them upright, his slaves looked a bit more practical than Kaiya's they weren't nearnly as long or as poofie, they were straight and to the point, his trousers were a light cloth which complemented the dark red of the coat.
"Please do Sindri, its been a long and tiring day" she placed her staff on the ground, it stayed perfectly upright while she walked away from it and sat down with her eyes closed and no more, her mind wandering, thoughts passing through the supplies she had put together from extras that she traded, they were all listed for the resistance, the back of her shop which had a connection to the underground system, presumably for disposal reasons was also the main hatch for the resistance gathering supplies from her shop, she had connections with them now for years after being approached by the local cell's leader when they were injured, Kaiya patched the leader up, and since then the connection between them was quite strong indeed, She agreed to help them where she could, the Majority of that was Medicines, Healing salves... and the occasional weapon or pieces of information that they couldn't gather, Afterall Kaiya was not just a Mage, but had familial ties to the elite and considering her standing in the community at large she had a seat at the high-guild of traders.
